Ahead of a state election
A state with a large, concentrated listed-company base carries more market-relevant policy risk around an election than one with few. Pull up that state's company list, then check its News tab filtered to the "Elections" tag to see what's actually being reported, before assuming the whole market reacts the same way a locally exposed company might.
A new infrastructure push
A new expressway, port, or industrial corridor tends to matter most to companies already anchored in that state or city. Filter the state's News tab by the "Infrastructure" tag, then cross-check its company list, sector breakdown included, to see who is actually positioned to benefit.
Where foreign capital is already flowing
Pair this with FPI Sector Flows: find which sectors foreign investors are currently net buying, then narrow to the state or city where that sector actually clusters, a sharper starting list than sector alone.
A city suddenly in the news
A city landing a large new plant, data center, or corporate campus, its own or a foreign company's, is easiest to research by first seeing which listed companies already call that city home, since they're the ones positioned to feel a knock-on effect first, whether as suppliers, landlords, or competitors.
None of this is automatic or predictive, it's a research starting point: geography narrows a broad question ("who does this affect?") down to a short, checkable list.

State (HQ) and City (HQ) are real screener fields under Descriptive. Filter to one state or city at a time, then stack valuation, fundamentals, or sector criteria on top to turn a location into an actual shortlist.

Common questions
Does HQ location mean that's where the company actually operates?
Not necessarily. It's the registered-office address, which for larger companies may be a corporate HQ rather than every plant or branch. Treat it as a strong starting signal for regional exposure, not a complete operational footprint.
Can I see a state or city's news filtered by election or infrastructure activity?
Yes. Open that state's page and use the News tab's tag filters, Elections and Infrastructure are both real, regularly updated tags, alongside FII/DII activity, budget, RBI policy, and more.
Can I filter by more than one state or city at once?
Not yet in the screener, it's one state or city per filter today. For a multi-location view, use the state or city overview pages directly, or run separate screens and compare.
Is there a direct 'this election affected these stocks' feature?
Not as a single automated feature today. What exists is real: a state's news tagged by event type, and that state's company list, side by side, so you can draw that connection yourself for whichever state and event you're actually watching.
