Where are foreign investors actually putting money right now?
Every fortnight, NSDL publishes exactly how much Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) bought or sold in each sector. It is one of the clearest real-money signals of where big foreign capital sees opportunity, or risk, before that view necessarily shows up in prices.
Latest fortnight: 1–15 Aug 2026

A real example of why this matters
In the fortnight above, Financial Services pulled in the largest net FPI inflow while Telecom saw the largest net outflow, a sign flip from the fortnight before it, when Financial Services itself was a net seller. That kind of swing rarely makes headlines the day it happens, but it is exactly the sort of shift that shows up here first: not a prediction of what a stock will do, but a real record of where foreign capital is actually moving, sector by sector, fortnight by fortnight.
Using it in the screener
FPI Sector Flow (₹ Cr, latest fortnight) lives under the Ownership category in the screener. It applies to every stock in that sector, so it is a way to screen for stocks sitting in a sector that foreign investors are currently buying into, or exiting, combined with whatever else you filter on: valuation, fundamentals, or technicals.
Each opens the screener pre-filtered. Add valuation or fundamentals criteria on top to narrow further.
Common questions
Is this stock-specific, or sector-wide?
Sector-wide. The screener field applies the sector's own fortnightly flow to every stock in it. It tells you which sector foreign investors are favoring, not how much they bought of any one company.
Why fortnightly, not daily?
NSDL publishes FPI investment data twice a month, covering the 1st-15th and 16th-end of each month. That's the real reporting cadence; there is no official daily sector-level breakdown to show instead.
Does a sector inflow mean I should buy stocks in it?
No. It's one real data point about where foreign capital is currently flowing, not a signal on its own. Combine it with the sector's own fundamentals and valuation, the same way you would any other screener criterion.
Where can I see the full breakdown, charts, and history?
The full sector-by-sector view, with trend charts and a conviction ranking, lives on the Institutional FPI Sector Flows page, linked below.
