Composite Score vs. Fundamental Score
Two different questions: is the price stretched, and is the business sound. Neither answers the other.
VII itself is a blend of two sub-scores, and the combined number is sometimes called its Composite Score: a positioning component (the 52-week-range math covered in the earlier lessons, backed by real multi-year price history) and a valuation component (a stock's own P/E measured against its industry-weighted P/E, based on current fundamentals only, with no historical backtrack — that data simply isn't stored that way yet). VII's default weighting leans positioning over valuation.
Even blended, VII's Composite Score is still answering one question: is this price stretched relative to a reasonable benchmark. It has nothing to say about whether the business itself is any good.
Fundamental Score is the separate answer to that separate question, built entirely without reference to price or valuation. Neither score can substitute for the other, and neither is "more advanced" than the other — they're deliberately independent measurements, which is exactly why the value-investing method checks both rather than picking one.
VII and Fundamental Score are technical/informational indicators for your own research — they are not investment advice and should not be the sole basis for a buy or sell decision. Please consult your investment advisor.
